Call to Confession

We have neglected to seek the face of our God and let our love grow cold while serving the Lord. Let us turn away from our sin and apathy, confessing it to him.

Prayer of Confession (in unison)

Loving and merciful God, we thank you for the community you have given us,
for the brothers and sisters who walk together with us on this journey of faith. Yet, we confess that we fail to love as you have loved us. We have broken your command to love one another. We have walked away from our neighbor in need, too distracted by our own concerns to notice. Forgive us, O God. Form in us a new vision of community, where all are valued and loved, so that we may be a sign to the world of the future you are preparing for all. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Pastor: Behold! There is a new heaven, a new earth and a new city, where the river of life flows,
where the tree of life bears fruit in every season. This heaven, this city, this river, this tree
are a vision of our lives together forgiven, restored, and renewed. Believe this good news and live in its peace.
Congregation: Thanks be to God!

Gloria

Passing the Peace

Pastor: After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples in the house where they were hiding, and bade them his peace. May the peace of Christ be with you!
Congregation: The peace of Christ be with you also!
